Statutory and DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant signage is legally required in commercial, public, and multi-dwelling buildings to meet Australian building codes and accessibility standards. These signs aren’t just mandatory — they’re critical for safety, navigation, and inclusivity.
At Catco Signage, we supply and install compliant signage that meets AS 1428.1 and NCC requirements. We work with builders, access consultants, and certifiers to ensure every sign is positioned at the correct height, orientation, and contrast level — and installed with absolute precision.
Our statutory signage services include:
- Braille and tactile signs for amenities, exits, stairwells, and meeting rooms
- Fire safety signs, including extinguisher ID, hose reel, and evacuation plans
- Entry/exit, no smoking, emergency contact, and regulatory plaques
- Height-positioned door signs (usually 1200–1600mm from FFL)
- Compliance signage for lifts, accessible toilets, and emergency areas
We install using construction adhesives or concealed fixings depending on wall finish (e.g. tile, gyprock, concrete), and ensure signs are tamper-proof and aligned. Every job is cross-checked with plan mark-ups or access drawings when supplied, ensuring compliance is never left to guesswork.
